The first morning he noticed it, he blamed the coffee.
He raised his left hand and the man in the glass raised his — but late, by the width of a breath. Not enough to swear to. Enough to remember.
By the third morning he had stopped raising his hand at all. He simply stood there, and waited to see what the other one would do first.
